Many people that I’ve talked to throughout the years don’t realize the amount of Revolutionary War history that took place in NJ. Hike 51 of my 2015/2016 52 Hike Challenge took place at one of the most historical sights in the state – Washington Crossing State Park.

Hike 47: Abram S. Hewitt State Forest, Appalachian Trail
Crossing state lines isn’t something that far out of the ordinary for many hikers, but hike 47 was the first time I hiked from one state into another. I headed to Abram S. Hewitt State Park on the suggestion of my wife after she randomly pointed to the Bearfort Ridge on my map. Continue reading

Hike 43: Norvin Green State Forest
Hike 43 was my third time hiking this particular route in Norvin Green State Forest; Otter Hole to Carris Hill to Chikahoki Falls. The climb to the top of Carris Hill is a moderate hike, made more difficult by the initial decent from Otter Hole. Continue reading
