Wrangler Rock Lobster Revealed in Paris

Jeep recently showed off the new Moab Edition Wrangler at the Paris Auto Show.  It was also the first sighting of one of the new Wrangler colors for 2013, Rock Lobster.  The pictures of Jeep’s new colors always look a bit different in person, but I hope this reddish-orange is close to the real deal.

the 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab is not a Rubicon

Following a plethora of special edition Wranglers for 2012 – The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the Arctic Edition, Altitude Edition, and the barely mentioned Freedom Edition – Jeep is kicking off 2013 with yet another limited edition JK. The 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab edition is based on the Sahara model, and shares features of many of the special editions we saw last year.

Jeep continues to test the water with a pair of pickup concepts

Around this time every year, Jeep reveals concept vehicles to showcase at the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab Utah. the EJS is most likely the largest single gathering of Jeep vehicles on the planet, and is certainly a great place for the Chrysler heads to acquire some customer feedback from the core of their customer base; the enthusiasts. This year, like the past few years, there is a nice mix of realistic production potentials, and outrageously awesome pipe-dream concepts. One trend we’ve seen over the last few years is the presence of Wrangler based pickup trucks – this year Jeep built two of them.

Could Jeep be preparing for a supra-Rubicon Wrangler?

Prior to 2003, there were few factory options available that would increase the offroad ability of your YJ or TJ Wrangler. Lift kits, rock sliders, heavy duty transfer cases, heavy duty axles, selectable lockers, sway bar disconnects, and lower axle gearing (among other things) were reserved for aftermarket manufacturers, or ambitious do-it-yourself-ers.

Crush Orange 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara with Color Match Top

I promise this will be the last Crush Orange Wrangler post – I just love this orange so much and know that a lot of you are having a hard time finding them.  As with all of the pictures I’ve taken, the color seems a little lighter than it actually is.  The grille shot with the Crush parked next to the Dozer shows a good comparison of the two.  enjoy!

Arctic Wrangler and Liberty: they’re coooooming to America

When images of Jeep’s 2012 Arctic Wrangler edition surfaced a few weeks ago, there was only mention of outside US availability.  Contrary to that thought; Arctics have already hit dealer lots, even though Jeep only officially ‘revealed’ the new special edition vehicles this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Crush Orange and Arctic JK Jeep Wranglers spotted

2012 Crush Orange Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

I pass a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Fiat dealer on my way to work every morning – and for the last few weeks I’ve been checking the lot for a Crush Orange JK Wrangler while sitting in traffic. I thought I spotted one in the lot a few days ago, but it was gone by the time I passed on my way home. I stopped in Friday night, and to my surprise, they had moved the beautiful beast inside.

Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty Special Edition Re-Enlists for 2012

Less than two days after posting here that Jeep had yet to confirm if the Call of Duty or Mojave special editions would continue for 2012; Jeep released information confirming a 2012 Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition Wrangler.  It is still unknown if Jeep will be sending me a 2012 Crush Orange Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with a black hard top, 6 speed manual trans, leather, and all the geeky navigation and phone connectivity do-dads for a long term (permanent) performance evaluation.  (I’ll wait for them to call me over the weekend, to discuss delivery.)
