This is the first Wrangler color that I can think of that’s name has an apostrophe. Being a huge fan or funky colored Jeeps – I really like Amp’d. It is also an orange that most people could live with. Not quite as bold as Dozer… Amp’d is closer to Mango Tango with a hint of gold. Continue reading

2014 Wrangler minor updates
Jeep has been making big moves with the available factory options for the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited. For 2013 Jeep released the 10th Anniversary Rubicon Model; adding winch bumpers, extra ground clearance, and 32 inch BFG KM2 mud terrain tires. For 2014, Jeep has taken those special add-ons and created the Wrangler Rubicon X model. Continue reading
Cherokee’s identity crisis continues with SRT speculations
The all new Jeep Cherokee has had a rough start, and it hasn’t even hit dealer lots yet. Starting with leaked photos, that were quickly denied by Chrysler as being the new Cherokee, then un-denied with a “hey just kidding, that is the new Cherokee” statement; the 2014 Jeep Cherokee was officially introduced at the New York Auto show in March to mixed reviews. Mike Manley stood on stage as the Trail Hawk version of the new Jeep drove over a mocked rock trail showcasing the Liberty replacement’s off road ability; confirming its “real Jeep” status. Despite Manley’s claim that the Trail Hawk has already conquered “Hell’s Revenge” in Moab; many enthusiast are still doubting its actual capability, and the choice of the name “Cherokee.” With delays keeping Trail Hawk Cherokees out of enthusiast reach while the vehicle’s right to bear its name is being questioned; why on Earth would you leak that a tricked out street rated SRT version was in the works? Radiator Springs
As my friend James and I began our journey to Pennsylvania to retrieve the broken Jeep we had left there the day before; we agreed that, as a group, we’ve gotten a bit lax with our trail repair kits. We usually have pretty good luck when we venture out to Rausch Creek Off Road Park, but the last trip was not one of those luck filled ones. Looking back on it, I’m surprised that this was the first time we’ve had to leave a Jeep behind, to spend the night at the park. The day had started off great – up before 6am, a beautiful sunrise, and excited anticipation for what the day would bring. Continue reading
Overland Journal and my new obsession
I’ll admit it; I often get carried away. I’ll get an idea in my head and start a cycle of researching, list making, budgeting, day dreaming, and planning; then reality kicks in and I’m usually left frustrated, and disappointed. My wife bought me a subscription to Overland Journal for my birthday last fall – and now a few issues in; I want to build an overland rig and drive around the world.
2014 Jeep Cherokee TrailHawk
The retirement of the Jeep Liberty brings with it the end of solid axles in any non-Wrangler Jeep vehicle. A moment of silence please…
Along with The Dodge Dart, The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is the second all new vehicle from Chrysler to take on a classic name; hoping to give buyers a sense of familiarity with forward thinking vehicles. The Cherokee is the future of Jeep, so lets learn to embrace it.
2013 Jeep Wrangler Dune Sighting
Here I was, minding my own business walking the dealer lot while my friends in the Baker service department changed the Patriot’s oil, when I spotted a military-like-tan JK on the lot. I had completely forgotten about the new color DUNE, but here it is.
Moab Easter Jeep Teasers
Spring is in the air! And among many other things, that means Jeep’s yearly concept tease at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. The EJS has been on my bucket list for years, but for now, I’ll have to watch from afar and speculate on the images that trickle out over the next few weeks.
Brand Loyalty and my 2012 Jeep Patriot
It’s hard to deny that I am a devoted Jeep enthusiast. I drove my 1997 Wrangler every day for almost 5 years before purchasing a 2012 Jeep Patriot (4X4, 5 speed) in February of 2012, to take over daily driving duties. Overall I’ve been pretty satisfied with the Patriot; it’s a comfortable, capable, daily driver. It’s performed well in winter weather, and light off road situations. Despite being the opposite of the “get new people interested in the brand” target buyer – it fits my needs perfectly. Now a year into ownership, I figured it was time for a recap.
2014 Jeep Cherokee: early preview
Jalopnik threw a monkey wrench into Jeep’s plans on Friday when they published undisguised spy shots of the upcoming 2014 Jeep Cherokee, the long awaited Liberty replacement. The photos, found here, were not the ideal way for Chrysler’s next big move to meet the world, and after a few denial tweets, Jeep released 4 official photos of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
