2014 Wrangler minor updates

Jeep has been making big moves with the available factory options for the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited.  For 2013 Jeep released the 10th Anniversary Rubicon Model; adding winch bumpers, extra ground clearance, and 32 inch BFG KM2 mud terrain tires.  For 2014, Jeep has taken those special add-ons and created the Wrangler Rubicon X model.

Although a great move with the Rubicon – I can’t help but wonder if Jeep simply likes confusing people.  Why would you add “X” to the Rubicon to differentiate it from the regular Rubicon.  Especially when the “X” was a trim level equal to sport on the late TJs and early JKs.  Lets hope Jeep gets some more create personnel in the “What Should We Call This” department soon.  The Rubicon X will get a special interior as Jeep has done with all of the recent special editions including leather heated seats and a Rubicon X gauge cluster.

In addition to the Rubicon X edition – Wrangler Sport will get the option of 32 inch BFGKM2 tires with Black Rubicon Wheels.  2014 colors will include Amp’d, Anvil, Copperhead, Flame Red, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue (Freedom Edition only). Billet Silver, Bright White, Black and Dune will continue on for 2014.  An optional trail kit which will include a pair of gloves, D-Rings, and a tow strap will also be available.  All in all, I wasn’t expecting a big change for 2014.  These minor changes, and new options all point to good things to come for the redesign that we should see by 2017.

I’m trying to buy a 2014 Moab 2Dr. . . I took the specs ( what I wanted, basically everything) to local dealer. I thought he ordered it . . . now he tells me the Moab will not be available.
Is this the truth? If so is there another substitute in the works/available? As crazy as it sounds, I can’t find anyone who can give me an answer. If you can’t help can you steer me to someone who knows? I would really appreciate ANY help you can give.

The MOAB edition was for the 2013 model year. Since the 2014s were just announced, I doubt you will be able to order one at this point. I would either search for a dealer that has one with the specs you want, or wait and see if they continue it for the 2014s. I haven’t heard if it is going to continue or not.

Thanks for the response . . . I did order the 2014 from a dealer here in New Orleans. About two weeks later he told me the factory informed him that the Moab would not be built as a 2014. I didn’t/don’t know if he was truthful or not. I was trying to find the straight story. That being said . . . I’ve tried to locate a 2013 without luck. If anyone out there know of a dealer or individual who has one available . . . I would appreciate the info.
