a year in the pocket

Well, it has been just over a year since the blog went live – and I must say, I couldn’t be happier with how the first year has gone.  I’ve met some great people through the web (and in person) as a result of sharing my thoughts and ideas with the world.  In just a year, the 30 posts from my pocket have had over 13,000 page views!  I can’t believe it sometimes when I see those numbers!  I have some cool things in the works for you all – some more travel stories from my various adventures, product reviews, and the Jeep is in desperate need of some work.  I recently asked my twitter followers what they thought I should write about next… let me know what YOU think I should write about in the comments!  Here’s to another great year, and thank you so much for reading :)

Jeep continues to test the water with a pair of pickup concepts

Around this time every year, Jeep reveals concept vehicles to showcase at the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab Utah. the EJS is most likely the largest single gathering of Jeep vehicles on the planet, and is certainly a great place for the Chrysler heads to acquire some customer feedback from the core of their customer base; the enthusiasts. This year, like the past few years, there is a nice mix of realistic production potentials, and outrageously awesome pipe-dream concepts. One trend we’ve seen over the last few years is the presence of Wrangler based pickup trucks – this year Jeep built two of them.

Dodge Drops Dart in Detroit

The Dodge Dart – the much anticipated compact contender from Chrysler, was officially revealed today at the North American International Auto Show.  Flaunting fuel efficiency, class leading technology, and modern engineering; the Dart should easily win over Dodge’s disenfranchised Neon fans; and help everyone forget that the Caliber ever happened.

my brand new (to me) bike

I, regretfully, haven’t owned a ride-able bicycle in many years.  When my interest in mountain biking began growing recently; I started talking to friends (who ride often) to get their insight on bike types, brands, and where I should begin; one of them made my decision quite simple, and traded me this beauty for a 6 pack of beer. iPhone return on investment

Whenever I research buying a new vehicle, or selling one that I already own, resale value is of huge importance. I want to know how much of my initial investment will be recoup-able should I ever need to sell it quickly. When I purchased my first iPhone in July of 2009; I assumed that when it was replace, it would join the other pocket communicators in my nightstand junk drawer. I was wrong. Continue reading

Could Jeep be preparing for a supra-Rubicon Wrangler?

Prior to 2003, there were few factory options available that would increase the offroad ability of your YJ or TJ Wrangler. Lift kits, rock sliders, heavy duty transfer cases, heavy duty axles, selectable lockers, sway bar disconnects, and lower axle gearing (among other things) were reserved for aftermarket manufacturers, or ambitious do-it-yourself-ers.

2013 dodge dart interior: high tech, customizable, and it has pockets!

Chrysler released more teaser shots of the 2013 Dodge Dart this morning; clearly trying to increase interest leading up to the January 9, 2012 reveal at the Detroit Auto Show.  The interior styling clearly matches the exterior shots we saw last week, including light pipe interior illumination to match the Dart’s sweet Charger-esk rear end.  The 2 new images, and additional specs about the tech-focused dart, leave me only to wonder… how will the power train perform?

monumental media medium makeover!

About two years ago; I made a pretty big decision regarding the medium of my media. I was tired of re-purchasing music, not having it when I wanted it, not being able to enjoy it as much as I wanted to, or simply not being able to find it. Something had to change, and ultimately; I decided to skip the middle man and go with an Old School/New School music library.
