The last two months have been extremely busy, and I’ve sadly fallen a bit behind on my 52 Hike Challenge. I took advantage of a beautify day off of work to get in Hike 10 at the Sourland Mountain Preserve in Hillsborough, NJ.
Mojo and I set off along the Ridge Trail near the pond at marker 13. We followed the trail South, crossing the pipeline trail into the less popular section of the park. The Ridge Trail crosses many of the small creeks in the preserve before turning West at Roaring Brook. We followed along the brook towards the Roaring Rocks Boulders. This boulder field is my favorite part of the Sourlands, but I decided to stay on the Ridge Trail and save the Roaring Brook Trail (red circle markers) for another day. We continued on the Ridge Trail to marker 4 where we took the connecting trail down to the Maple Flats Trail which lead us back down to the parking lot.
