Teton Sports Oasis 1100: Review

The only experience I’ve had with water hydration packs was while sharing one with a few friends hiking in the Tongass National Forest near Juneau, Alaska.  We were saving the water in my water bottles for cooking, since it would be easier to manage once we got to camp.  The hose leaked, the mouth piece was chewed up, and I questioned the last time it was cleaned.  I didn’t let it ruin the amazingness of the hike, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.  Continue reading

Ram Rebel is not a Raptor replica

It’d be pretty easy to conjure up a list of reasons why the new Ram 1500 Rebel is a Ford F-150 Raptor “wannabe.” Yes, they are both “Factory Modified Off-Road” versions of the respective company’s half ton offerings; but each carry their own benefits for different types of customers. Sunset Orange 2015 Wrangler Sport Sighting

I’m a sucker for a nice orange Jeep. Mango Tango is still the best Orange (in my opinion) of recent years, but Sunset Orange is certainly a color I would order a JK in, if I were ordering a JK. Copper Brown 2015 Wrangler Willys spotted! [gallery]

I was actually really surprised when I turned the corner and saw it – I wasn’t expecting it to look anything like this. The Copper Brown Wrangler has almost a bronze look to it, and was not as dark as I had anticipated. It wouldn’t be my first choice color, but I’m sure some people will like it. Continue reading

Baja Yellow 2015 Jeep Wrangler Willys Edition Spotted [gallery]

I absolutely love when the new model year Jeeps start hitting dealer lots so I can resume my obsession with new colors. The 15 Wranglers have already been on lots for a few weeks now, but I finally spotted one that wasn’t black or white. I give you Baja Yellow! In all of its 2 Door Willys style! Continue reading

Give me a brake

If you’re going to blow a brake line, your driveway is the place to do it, sadly that was the only convenient occurrence of my still ongoing brake overhaul.  It was a crisp October Saturday morning when the 16 year old brake line decided it had finally had enough.  After realizing what had happened, I slowly backed the Wrangler to the top of the driveway, shut her down and chocked the wheels.  A few weeks went by and I was finally able to order a new set of lines, along with front pads and rotors, and a new master cylinder.  Then, the septic tank failed at the house, winter came, and the TJ proceeded to get covered in snow until the spring.
