OtterUnboxing – a Catalyst Case Review

The orange accents were like a playful flirtation that caught my eye from across the room. Available replacement pieces had me reaching for my wallet.  And the GoPro mount compatible clips (even though not out for the 6 case yet) sealed the deal for this slick piece of protective gear. Norvin Green State Forest: Otter Hole to Carris Hill Hike

I was pumped. The Otter Hole to Carris Hill loop was one of my favorite hikes from last summer, and despite the blistering heat, I was excited for the challenges ahead! The 4 mile hike takes you past creeks, rock slab summits, waterfalls, rock scrambles, and dense forest. The difficulty and beauty of the Norvin Green State Forrest captured a piece of my heart last summer, which is why I couldn’t wait to get back here. Continue reading

Warm weather hiking on Mount Tammany – NJ

I spent most of the winter exploring the Sourland Mountain Preserve (a local park that has become my unofficial training ground).  I love that I have a cool spot so close to home, but felt like I needed a challenging hike to officially open warm weather adventuring season. I thought about the day hikes I most enjoyed last summer and decided to hit the Mt. Tammany loop in Worthington State Forrest – part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.  Continue reading
