Washington Valley Park is one of Somerset County’s larger recreational parks – hike 35 was my second time hiking in the park since starting my 52 Hike Challenge in November. Continue reading
Hike 34: Mount Tammany Summit
Mount Tammany’s red-dot trail is one of the quintessential New Jersey hikes – I’m not sure you can even call yourself an avid NJ hiker if you don’t make your way to Tammany’s summit annually. Hike 34 was my third time climbing to the top of the water gap and as always, it seemed steeper than last year’s hike. Continue reading
Hike 33: Bunker Hill Natural Area
I was talking up hike 33 to Mojo for a few days – we were both excited about spending some quality outdoor time together to celebrate his three year adoptiversary! I got home from work – packed some water and treats and double checked the web for a map of the area I was planning on taking Mojo. To my dismay – dogs are not allowed at this particular park so I needed a quick plan B – I went to my notebook, did a quick google search and we were on our way. Continue reading
2017 Jeep Wrangler Announced with New LED Headlights
I wasn’t expecting anything new for the 2017 model year Wranglers since the looming redesign is due out for the 2018s. I’m sure there will be new special editions to come, but for now all we know for sure is the existence of new LED headlights. Continue reading
Hike 32: Sourland Mountain Preserve – Roaring Rocks
Hike thirty two brought me back to the Sourland Mountain Preserve – the roaring rocks trail is one of my favorite trails in the park and the only piece I haven’t hiked since starting the 52 Hike Challenge in November. Continue reading
Hike 31: Six Mile Run
I’m trying to catch up on a bunch of hikes this month which means finding short hikes close enough to home that I can complete them after work while I still have daylight. I’ve been through sections of six mile run on my bike before but this was my first time hiking there. Continue reading
Hyper Green Wrangler is hyper!
After much searching, I finally spotted this 4 door Sport model over the weekend. Hyper Green reminds me of a muted Gecko with more of a yellow element to it – I dig it, but still like Tank the most among the three available greens right now. Continue reading
A piece of Treasure-like Trail Trash wrecked my bladder and now I have a Platypus
I was nearly complete with Hike 21 of my 52 Hike Challenge, hiking along the ridge in Jenny Jump State Park, when I saw something shiny in the rocks along the side of the trail. Continue reading

The 2017 Jeeps haven’t been added to Jeep’s website yet, but vehicles are already hitting dealer lots – spotted this white Grand Cherokee Trailhawk today and can confirm that the starting price for the new Jeep is $42,995 before options and destination fee. Continue reading
Hike 30: Cedar Ridge Preserve
The Cedar Ridge Preserve was one of the many spots I found during everyday driving – I’ve had a keen eye for trailhead signs since starting my 52 Hike Challenge and spotted the Cedar Ridge parking area while heading to a friend’s house. Continue reading
