The 2019 RAM 1500 might not have industry leading towing and payload specs for half tons; but the figures released today are impressive none the less. Figures that were once reserved for diesel trucks is now being achieved with v8 gas enignes. For the 2019 model year; RAM 1500 with its 5.7L HEMI V8 and 8 speed automatic is rated to tow 12,750 lb. and haul 2,300 lb. in the bed. Returning for 2019 is the off road spec’d Rebel trim level now available in Quad Cab configurations and featuring new 18-inch wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires driven by an electronic-locking rear differential. While air suspension is still available, the Rebel now comes standard with coil spring suspension and a one-inch factory lift.
The specs with the standard V6 are greater than you’ll get with any of the midsize V6 trucks, but if going with a half ton I’d still option for the HEMI V8. Pricing for the 2019 Rebel hasn’t been announced, but the engine upgrade is a $1,450 option on the 2018 model.
The interior of the rebel still sports tire tread seats, and Ram’s interesting dial-shifter knob (something I’m not crazy about but might just deal with to get one of these tucks).
Returning for the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel are steele bumpers and a large RAM logo on the tailgate. New LED headlights bookend the mustache RAM grille on the front end.
Across all 1500 models are stronger frames, and improved tailgates that can be opened with a switch in the cabin or from the key fob… will make loading the bed with your arms full much easier than dropping the tailgate without dropping your cargo.
